Apple is set to release the iOS 18.7 update for eligible iPhone models this September, sources including MacRumors report. The upcoming update is expected to focus primarily on security improvements, addressing vulnerabilities across supported devices.
This version of iOS 18 marks one of the final updates for older devices, including the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR, which will not be compatible with the forthcoming iOS 26 operating system. iOS 26 will only support iPhone 11 and later models, reflecting Apple’s ongoing push toward newer hardware.
Apple has concluded extensive beta testing of iOS 26 and is preparing for a wider release. Industry analysts anticipate the update to be available to all users by mid-September, ahead of the company’s product announcements.
